Breaking News Hurricane Dorian strengthens to Category 3 storm Hurricane Dorian has become a Category 3 storm, the National Hurricane Center announced Friday. As of Friday, the storm – which has maximum sustained winds blowing at 115 mph – was centered about 660 miles east of West Palm Beach, moving northwest at 10 mph. "If it makes landfall as a Category 3 or 4 hurricane, that's a big deal," University of Miami hurricane researcher Brian McNoldy told the Associated Press. "A lot of people are going to be affected.
